Where exactly does creativity come from and what is it? Does is reside in a specific part of your brain?

what makes creative people creative

Creativity is not simple, it is multifaceted and messy and its point of origin is very difficult to pinpoint.

What makes some people extremely creative and others not? Researchers discovered that intelligence plays only a modest role and also that creative people are walking contradictions and very complex. “They are both more primitive and more cultured, more destructive and more constructive, occasionally crazier and yet adamantly saner than the aver person.”

Creative and brain processes bring seemingly contradictory elements together in unusual and unexpected ways.

If you consider yourself a creative person, you probably can totally relate to this information.

I consider myself a creative person and often tell others that my brain is like a grab bag and I never know what will come out next. The title of my personal website expresses this sentiment: Marlies’ Creative Universe (www.mcuniverse.com). I just can’t limit myself to just one creative system or way. I often experiment with different media on a theme.

On the other hand, I am also very disciplined and am always looking for the most efficient and simplest way to get the results I am looking for.
