10 Time Management Tips That Work

    Record your thoughts, conversations and activities for a week, then go over the information and analyze it so that you can tweak it to improve your results.
  2. Plan and schedule your day ahead of time
    Use the first 30 minutes of the day to plan your day or even better do it the evening before. Scheduling how you want to spend to time is the most important part of scheduling.
  3. Schedule instead of a to-do list
    Don’t forget to schedule appointments with yourself rather than using a to-do list. Appointments have a beginning and an end, to-do lists don’t.
  4. Put a ‘do not disturb’ sign up
    If you have important work to get done, put a ‘do not disturb’ sign up.
  5. Spend time on things that produce most of your results
    Aim to spend at least 50 percent of your time engaged in activities, conversations and thoughts that produce most of your results.
  6. Schedule time for interruptions
    Be prepared to be pulled away from what you are doing.
  7. Plan your phone calls and meetings
    Use 5 minutes before phone calls and meetings to plan what you want to attain so that you know what success will look like. Afterwards use 5 minutes to determine if you have achieved the desired result. If not, figure out what was missing and how you can improve it the next time.
  8. Screen phone calls and emails
    Screen your phone calls and don’t look at every incoming email unless absolutely necessary and need an instant human response.
  9. Schedule your social media time
    Social media can take up a lot of your time, so set up a schedule and stick to it. If you use social media to generate business, schedule it.
  10. 20 percent of your actions lead to 80 percent of your results
    You will never be able to get everything done. and 80 percent of your results will come from 20 percent of your thoughts, conversations and activities.
